Dismissal of the dwelling

Period of notice is one calendar month. The period of notice shall be calculated from the last day of the month in which written notice of termination is received by the Office. Notices of termination can be printed from the rentedhouses.net website or collected from the office. When you give notice of termination, you will receive instructions on how to move out or you can print them out here (Cleaning and handover instructions 11-2022).

Also terminate the electricity contract, which must remain in force until the end of the lease, unless otherwise agreed.

Handover of the dwelling

When you move out, clean up the apartment so that the next person can move in. Windows, stove, oven, refrigerator backs, filters and vents should also be cleaned. Furniture and similar items do not belong in the waste bins of the housing association, but must be removed by the tenant. Then call the landlord to arrange the return of the keys and the handover of the apartment. Return all keys to the caretaker and inform him/her of any defects in the apartment. Please also leave a completed removal form on the kitchen floor. In addition, make a notice to move out.

Refund of security deposit

When the tenant moves out, the caretaker carries out an inspection, which is compared with the inspection form that the tenant fills in when moving in. The tenant has the right and opportunity to be present during the inspection. If the apartment is in a bad state of repair, it will be repaired and cleaned at the tenant's expense. The security deposit will be reduced by the cost of repair and cleaning and any unpaid rent. Any guarantor may be required to pay the full amount of the outstanding debt.

Cleaning

The apartment is handed over in such a condition that the next tenant can move in and if the cleaning has not been done or is incomplete, the costs may be charged to the tenant.

For the final cleaning, do these:

  • wash floors, walls, windows and doors with mouldings
  • empty cupboards, wash shelves and doors
  • defrost and clean the fridge/freezer
  • clean the extractor hood, stove, oven, oven shelves, grates and hob
  • clean the toilet, sink, traps, floor drains
  • in an apartment with a sauna, also wash the sauna heaters, sauna door
  • in a dwelling with a fireplace, empty the fireplace ash pan and firebox of ashes
  • empty and clean the apartment storage room and balcony/terrace

When you move out of an apartment, be sure to leave the apartment:

  • Mailbox
  • Fire alarm
  • Firewood
  • Cable modem and associated wiring
  • Electrical sockets, ceiling plugs
  • Other furniture and equipment belonging to the apartment, if any

Final inspection and handover of keys

  • arrange a time with the caretaker

  • the caretaker reads the water meters and checks the condition of the dwelling and takes the keys

Rental guarantee

  • the financial guarantee will be returned to the account you specify after the final inspection
  • deduction of any rental debts
  • deducting any cleaning costs or repair costs arising from wear and tear other than normal wear and tear
